RESolutions is a full-service structural engineering firm that provides assistance to Homeowners, potential Home Buyers and Sellers, Architects and Contractors for a wide variety of needs.

Our services are customizable to fit a varied range of needs, from assessing cracks in foundation walls to the preparation of structural design documents for new homes and additions.  Our typical process begins with an Initial Consultation to gather basic information and to provide general recommendations for next steps.  If additional structural engineering services are required after the Initial Consultation (such as follow-up site visits, preparation of repair sketches, etc.) we will advise you on these services, as they are required.

Investigations

Initial Consultation – Typically for Homeowners, Potential Home Buyers and Sellers. We make observations of the areas of concern and offer our opinions and recommendations on how to address them.

  • Spend between one and two hours onsite with client

  • Typically visual, non-invasive investigation

  • Deliverable: Brief Statement of Opinions form

Feasibility Study – Typically for Homeowners, Contractors and Architects. We review the existing structure and determine whether alterations or add-ons are possible. 

  • Spend between one and two hours onsite with client

  • Typically visual, non-invasive investigation, limited light demolition to check existing structure

  • Deliverable: Brief Statement of Opinions form, formal opinion letter, or Summary Email

Design Documents

Repair and Reinforcement Design Documents – Typically for Homeowners, Contractors and Architects. We can create or edit existing design documents required for the construction or repair process.

  • Typically for Structural Changes and Improvements such as Bearing Wall removals, Underpinning, Basement Waterproofing, Retaining Walls and Foundation Wall Repair

  • Deliverable: Sketches, Structural Plans, Details, and Specifications, Design Documents

New Construction Design Documents – Typically for Homeowners, Contractors and Architects. We design the structural components for construction of new projects.

  • Typically for New Homes, Additions and Interior Renovations

  • Deliverable: Sketches, Structural Plans, Details, and Specifications, Design Documents

Construction Services

Engineering Services During Construction - Typically for Homeowners, Architects, and Contractors. We check-in on repairs or construction to help make sure our client is getting the structural portion of the work they paid for.

  • Site Visits during Construction to observe and document how the construction compares with the approved Design Documents (comes with Field Report)

  • Crack Monitoring – Installation of monitors and Follow-Up Readings (comes with Field Reports)

  • Deliverables: Field Report, Opinion Letter or a Summary Email

Legal Investigations Litigation Support Testimony

Typically for Homeowners, Architects and Contractors. We offer our professional input if necessary during the conflict resolution processes.
